I did this one the same day as the deer one: [link] but never got around to finishing it until today. I quite like it, but the wings bother me. I think having them as one mass is a little odd. Also stereotypical bird pose, yes.

I chose purpley-pinkish colors since I don't use those a lot. Also ~Sanhanian says it reminds her of stained glass. That's a neat idea.

Not sure what I think about this new submission format.....

I dunno, I think it looks great. Maybe 'cause you're so used to drawing the individual feathers is why it looks strange to you.

Wow does everyone have the new submit page except me?! XD lol I'm a beta tester..yet I don't have the new page??? Logic in this is???

Hmm I think the reason they look weird as one piece is because the line is totally smooth? (like there's not unevenness caused by the different lengths of the feathers)
Also purple-y + pink actually looks really pretty if it's like a light blue-purple sorta colour and a light pastel pink :"D hehe sorta.."dawn" colours~
